THE RISK FACTOR

My Heart’s Been...

cornered and pushed up against a wall

tossed, tripped and took a great fall

frozen, unthawed and frozen again

twisted, tied, before it could mend

forced, fooled and made to cry

shaken, slapped and hung out to dry

sliced, diced, rejected and sedated

rolled, thrown, marked and degraded

pinched, prodded, squeezed and poked

cradled, nestled and keenly provoked

But in spite of all this, I will take the

risk

and dare to love again

Is truth spoken or is it just another lie

cause I’m not positive you won’t say goodbye

But in spite of all this, I will take the

risk

and dare to love again
