Council will salute outstanding minority entrepreneurs
and noted leaders whose spirit, commitment and exemplary
dedication have made them minority business role models
and distinguished business advocates.
The MED Council is
comprised of representatives from major public and
private sectors, banks and minority-owned firms. The MED
WEEK Awards Committee distributes nominating petitions
statewide. Out of an extensive competitive evaluation
process, winners are selected for the coveted awards.
MED WEEK was created by
Presidential Proclamation in 1983 and has become a
highly-anticipated annual event. MED WEEK award
recipients selected on a national level, are honored
during a special ceremony and Awards Gala Reception that
has been attended, in the past by the Vice President, the
Commerce Secretary and other high-ranking officials.
