WASHINGTON

(NNPA)—In what apparently is one of the greatest attacks on American

soil, the New York World Trade

Center

and the Pentagon were hit Tuesday by three planes that were hijacked,

with a  fourth hijacked plane crashing

near Pittsburgh. The crash by two

passenger jets, one from American Airlines and the other from United Airlines,

caused the two towers of the Trade Center

to collapse, with thousands in lower Manhattan

being evacuated to New Jersey.
